CLIMATE, CLIMOGRAPH AND TEMPERATURE GRAPH

The climate here is mild, and generally warm and temperate. When compared with winter, the summers have much more rainfall. The Köppen-Geiger climate classification is Cwa. The temperature here averages 18.4 °C. The rainfall here averages 1525 mm.

Precipitation is the lowest in November, with an average of 12 mm. In July, the precipitation reaches its peak, with an average of 376 mm.

TEMPERATURE GRAPH

At an average temperature of 24.1 °C, June is the hottest month of the year. At 10.3 °C on average, January is the coldest month of the year.

School Selection

OLE Nepal and Baitadi DEO had announced a call for application to primary schools through the local FM stations and newspaper advertisements. The application forms were made available at the DEO office, resource centers and Food for Education (FFE) offices. A total of 38 applications received by the DEO were carefully reviewed by OLE Nepal and DEO staff, and 24 schools were shortlisted based on the number of students, teachers and school infrastructure. Two teams consisting of OLE Nepal staff, DEO and FFE officials conducted site survey of the 24 schools on May 21 – 29 to check the infrastructure, meet with teachers and community members, and to assess how well the schools fit the criteria set by the DEO and OLE Nepal. Since many of the schools were located in far flung communities, the teams were often required to walk for days on difficult hilly terrains. Upon completion of the survey, the teams convened at the DEO office and selected 15 schools.

बैतडीमा पहिलो पटक नदी दिवस मनाईएको छ । जिल्लाको दशरथ चन्द नगरपालिका वडा नं. ६ महाकाली नदी किनारका वस्तीमा रहेका महिलाहरुले नदी दिवस मनाएका हुन् । नदी सफा राखौ, नदीको पानीको सदुपयोग गरौं ,पानी जीवन हो ,पानी सम्पत्ति हो भन्ने नारा लगाएर महिलाहरुले नदी दिवस मनाएको महिला सशक्तिकरण केन्द्रका सदस्य पर्वती कार्कीले बताउनुभयो । नदी दिवसको अवसरमा पानीको महत्वका बारेमा चित्रकला प्रतियोगितासहित नदीको गतिविधि सम्बन्धि अन्तरक्रिया समेत आयोजना गरिएको थियो । महाकाली किनारमा रहेको उक्त शेरा वस्तीमा ९५ घर परिवार छन् । छेउमै महाकाली नदी बगे पनि गाउँमा खानेपानी र सिंचाईको अभाव छ । सो वस्तीमा महाकाली नदीको पानीको सदुपयोग परियोजना ( ट्रोसा ) कार्यक्रम संचालनमा रहेको छ । नदी दिवस मनाउन रुडेस बैतडीले महिलाहरुलाई सहयोग गरेको दशरथ चन्द नगरपालिका ६ का निर्वाचित वडा सदस्य सीता कार्कीले बताउनुभयो । अक्सफाम नेपालको सहयोगमा रुडेसद्वारा संचालित महाकाली नदीको पानीको सदुपयोग परियोजना ( ट्रोसा ) ले बैतडीका दशरथ चन्द नगरपालिका, शिवनाथ गाउँपालिका र पञ्चेश्वर गाउँपालिकाका कार्यक्रम संचालन गरिरहेको रुडेस बैतडीका...
